TOC Container Supply Chain: Americas 2011 Overview

What happened at the 2011 event...

TOC Events Worldwide have four events in their portfolio and these are held regionally across the world in Asia, Europe, Middle East and the Americas

The 11th TOC Container Supply Chain event was successfully held in Panama 15-17 November 2011. The Conference and Exhibition brought together key stakeholders from the industry to network and do business over 3 productive days at the El Panama Hotel, Panama.

The Conference was opened by Alberto Aleman Zubieta CEO, Panama Canal Authority who updated the audience on the latest project updates for the Panama Canal Expansion.

Following on from this the audience was treated to 4 major ocean carriers: Maersk Line, Hamburg Sud, APL and Cosco who outlined there Liner Service Strategies for Latin & Central America and the USA. On day two there was a strong focus on the Container Supply Chain with presentations Kuene & Nagel, Damco and New Balance.

Day 3 of the conference focused on Port & Terminal Operations including presentations from SSA international, APM Terminals and Port of Long Beach.

There were record numbers of delegates who attended the conference with over 30 countries represented from across the world.

There were also a number of free seminars that were held in the Innovation Forum open to visitors who attended the exhibition. These included the PEMA technology forum and presentations from the leading suppliers in the Ports & Terminals industry.

Over 65 companies showcased their products at the exhibition with companies showcasing the latest cutting edge technologies. TOC is renowned globally for its exhibition and offers the audience, which is predominantly made up of Terminal Operators the opportunity to purchase new equipment for their terminals. Many exhibitors reported that this was the best TOC CSC Americas event ever, and had lots of interest from the buyers at the event.

Networking is essential to a TOC CSC event and exhibitors and delegates had the opportunity to visit the Mira Flores locks at the official networking event, this was kindly hosted by Canal de Panama and gave the attendees a chance to unwind and relax after a busy day at the conference.

For 2012 TOC will return to Panama for TOC Container Supply Chain: Americas 2012 on November 27 - 29 2012 – The aim is to continue to grow the exhibition & conference and deliver a world class event for the entire industry. There are also plans to launch a Cold Chain Conference alongside TOC CSC Americas 2012 so to keep up-to-date with the latest developments at www.tocevents-americas.com
