London, 25 October 2019
It’s always a pleasure to announce the countdown to a new TOC Americas. This nineteenth version is only days away from starting, and the joint keynote speakers are getting ready to share thoughts, visions and ideas regarding the industry’s current hot topics. Manuel Gutiérrez Torres, Viceminister, Infrastructure & Director, ANI (National Infrastructure Agency of Colombia), Captain Alfonso Salas, CEO Port of Cartagena Group and Frank Smet COO Hamburg Süd are teaming up to deliver the initial presentations of the industry’s top events.
Led by Rachael White, TOC Events Content Director, the speakers will “update the audience on the key developments at the port which is critical to Colombia’s foreign trade and global connectivity, promoting the socio-economic development of the Caribbean region and continuing to grow in importance as a facilitator for Latin business.”
This year’s conference focus will be on automation, digitalization and standardization. For three days, attendees of the nineteenth version of TOC Americas will have the opportunity to learn about the industry’s new reality. Local and global experts will shed light on current hot topics, focusing on the event’s three main pillars: automation, digitalization and standardization.
Presentations of conference day 1 will brief the public and take them on a tour of how today’s geopolitical volatility and increased protectionist policies pose a significant risk to regional and worldwide trade. ‘THE OCEAN SHIPPING UPDATES’ presentation will follow, assessing the risks and responses across the supply chain against the backdrop of the USA-China trade wars and the imminent IMO 2020 regulations.
The second day of presentations, the Smarter Ports panel will discuss innovations in port logistics - how to successfully fuse physical and digital infrastructure, followed by the INVESTMENT & INFRASTRUCTURE IN PORTS panel.
The third and final day will deliver the Bulk Conference, with panels on THE OUTLOOK FOR THE SOLID BULK SECTOR, UNDERSTANDING AND DELIVERING REGULATION, ENVIRONMENTAL PRIORITIES, INTELLIGENT SOLUTIONS & DIGITALIZATION, WORKFORCE & TRAINING and IMPROVING SAFETY AND BEST PRACTICES.
As usual, the conference will have networking activities, such as the official reception and an intensive port tour of Cartagena.
TOC Events has been leading successful maritime industry events for over 40 years. The nineteenth version of TOC Americas will take place in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, October 29-31. For more information on delegate passes or exhibition stands, please visit:
