Trade is the lifeblood of our global economy. Ports and Terminals are the departure and arrival points for 90% of world trade, which is why it is critical industry leaders work together, to knowledge share and find solutions to overcome supply chain challenges. 

This is particularly true for the Americas. The Americas represent one of the largest combined markets in the world, housing three of the Top 10 largest economies, with strong production of consumer, industrial and agricultural products across the region.

The region is a key part of our own mission to becoming a leading provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions. As a result, we are investing heavily in countries across the Americas in order to fully realise their potential. In Brazil, we are channelling a USD$35 million investment towards the enhancement and modernisation of infrastructure at the Port of Santos. In Peru, DP World Callao is undergoing a significant expansion with the Muelle Bicentenario Project, aiming to enhance the terminal’s capacity by 80%. Whilst at the Port of Vancouver, Canada’s largest port, we recently completed the Centerm Expansion Project, an AED 954 million (CAD$350 million) award-winning project to increase throughput by 60% and position British Columbia as a leader in sustainable trade.  

The Americas hold huge potential and we are incredibly excited to see the ports and terminals community come together at TOC Americas in Panama. Since the launch of our partnership as Lead Global Port Partner for 2023 at TOC Europe in June, symbolised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DP World and TOC, we’re looking forward immensely to the third iteration in Panama.
